Fanny Busuttil, graduated from a Master in International Affairs (Dijon), just completed a 4-month internship at Humanium.
“Convinced that a civil society has a major role to play in the fight against violations of human rights, I decided to take part in a work placement at the international headquarters of Humanium in Geneva, a symbol of hope and change.
These four months I spent with philanthropists has confirmed my ambition to continue being involved with the well being of people all over the world.
The international legal methods and topics connected to children really interests me even though it was sometimes hard to work on difficult topics such as prostitution or child trafficking. It is with optimism that the battle to denounce any violations and maintain an international concern for the conditions of children in the world should continue to be fought.
Machiavel said “Where the will is strong, difficulties decrease”. Therefore, I am sure that the ambitious work of the NGO Humanium, as well as other international organisations, will lead to a stronger legal recognition of children’s rights in the future.
I would like to thank Arndt and Olivier Soret for having given me the opportunity to serve the children of the world, at their side, and in particular Olivier, for having shared his experience with me and providing advice for the future. I would also like to thank the whole team with whom I have made friends and with whom I have shared many laughs.
Shoulder to shoulder with other volunteers and the perseverance with which they preformed their daily tasks, I am sure that Humanium will go far in its fight for the recognition and respect for human rights all over the world.
